Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thi Kim Cuc is a lecturer at the Faculty of Chemistry and Environment, Thuyloi University.

With nearly 30 years of dedicated research on mangrove forest, Prof. Dr. Cuc has made significant contributions to biodiversity conservation activities in coastal estuarine ecosystems. She is a member/principal investigator of many domestic and international scientific projects, focusing on understanding the mechanism, quantifying the functions and services of mangrove ecosystems, such as the ability to accumulate and store blue carbon, plastic waste including microplastics in mangroves, prevent and limit plastic waste pollution.

In 2002, Prof. Dr. Cuc was honored to receive the Young Scientist Award awarded by MAB-UNESCO. Besides that, she has also participated as a jury member in the “Youth Innovative Ideas for an Ocean without Plastic 2022” program organized by UNESCO.
